This is a large 1/87 (HO) Scale model airplane from Herpa Wings of the Cessna 172 private airplane with a very special chrome plated scheme. The C-172 is still today the most popular sports- and training aircraft worldwide. The four-seater high-wing airplane combines well-mannered flight characteristics, exquisite visibility and relatively low costs, which all adds up to unrivalled all-round qualities. Those who own such a VW of the skies but still want to cut a fine figure in sports flying circles, must come up with something different. Thats what an owners group at the airport of Sandy Valley in Nevada/USA did by stripping and polishing their aircraft, manufactured in 1970. It saved weight but considerably increased maintenance costs. But that did not deter the owners of the original registered N7904G. Their airplane is now immortalized by Herpa in the H0-scale, which at 3.75 inches long makes it compatible with a model railway at the same time.
